After growing up in small town Massachusetts, Victoria attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She graduated with a BFA in Screenwriting, which is exactly the degree being sought after in a recession.
She tries her best to combine her love of history, explosions, and butt-kicking heroines in her writing. Her hobbies include the impossible task of predicting what happens next in A Song of Ice and Fire, road trips, and burning through Netflix.
I was pleased to finally meet you at the East Longmeadow Library Wednesday night! I had an amazing time getting to know you and finding out some really cool stuff coming your way! Thank you for sending me your advice and letting me know that HarperColins is smooth and will accept manuscripts off the bat! - of course it has to be good or else no show! Haha :) I also wanted to bring up the fact that both yours and my writing and tastes are quite similar - the darkness. As a horror-thriller writer for YA and Adults I as extremely impressed by the violence you performed in Red Queen. (Grins) That blew my mind away! My mouth literally dropped as my eyebrows lifted! All I had to say to that was . . . damn. Haha! Also, haha, I wanted to ask if maybe we could keep in touch! I love meeting and reaching out to other authors - kinda like a support group for us writers Hehe. Also - once again! haha - If you're interested, feel free to check out my novel "The Nightmare" that should be republished this month! It would be great to get some reviews and opinions by you :)
I wish you the best of luck with everything you've accomplished! Great work Aveyard! :D
Hi Victoria, I am such a huge fan of your work and am looking forward to the release of "Glass Sword". I am hoping to become a publicist after my graduation this May and promote authors that have an excellent craft such as yours. Good luck with everything in the future!
Hello Ms. Aveyard!I absolutely love your books! I am a writer myself and I try to learn from your writing style. I couldn't wait 'til the second book came out. I was probably the first person at Barnes and Noble to get it when it did. I always tell my teachers and my friends about you books. Along with reading and writing I love acting. I have always loved acting and I want to be an actress when I grow up. I'm 14 now and I'm trying to make my path to pursue these dreams. I know that you are a screenwriter as well and (as many people have been wondering) I wanted to know if you will make a movie out of this series. If so I would love to try out for this role. I've done a lot of theater acting in my life and I believe the role for Mare would fit me. I read your FAQ page and I saw how you didn't really want to make a movie out of your books for a few reasons. I think these books would make such great movies and I would love to try out for a part in them. Please contact me back at natalie@thehistorykid.com Thank you so much for reading this and hopefully replying. It means a lot to me.
Hi Ms. Aveyard! i was wondering if i could have your email, because in my Literature class we are putting together a little booklet about our favorite authour's life. I wanted to ask you a couple questions, and tell you a little more about me. My name is Bella. I didn't really want to broadcast my entire life though. Would that be possible? Thanks a lot and i am a huge fan of your Red Queen series!!!! :-)
I would like to thank you for writing the book Red Queen. It is an amazing book, I would have liked if there was a movie of it. I haven't read the other books but I'm trying to.
I'm convinced your book "Red Queen." Is communist propaganda so I wanted to ask you. Red, as in Communism, Queen, as in the Tzarina, who the Commies overthrew. What's more, your book is immediately about class struggles and in your map you divided the United States of America, capitalism's strongest bastion. You've been exposed Victoria, now answer me. Am I right, or am I wrong.
