"We learned about the world before ours, about the angels and gods that
lived in the sky, ruling the earth with kind and loving hands. Some say those are just
stories, but I don’t believe that. The gods rule us still. They have come down from the stars. And they are no
longer kind."
"The truth is what I make it. I could set this world on fire and call it rain."
"In the stories, the old fairy tales, a hero comes. They crawl out of the darkness, somehow still shining, somehow still untouched by the dirt and the blood, and they save us. But all my heroes are gone or dead. No one is coming for me."

I love your book. I read it as an unbound galley a few months ago, and I think you are a magician.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how can I get an autographed copy.

ReplyDeleteI am loving The Red Queen! But I'd like to know if you have compiled a glossary of terms for the book? Something that perhaps give definitions to all the different types of silvers?
ReplyDeleteAs someone who also grew up with her nose stuck in a book, I just have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed Red Queen. Well done. The politics! The puzzle of trust among the characters! The magical abilities and wonder of otherworldliness! The love triangle – more like a square, really! I picked it up in my hometown bookstore this past Saturday, cracked open the cover on Sunday evening, and I was turning the final page by Monday night/Tuesday dawn. I couldn’t put it down, and it stuck with me – is still with me – long after I had to pause in a forced effort to do more menial things…ya know, like go to work, walk my dog, talk to regular folk, or make dinner. My book hangover just isn’t going away. I longingly await the second installment.
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time describing how much I loved this book. I saw the cover (fell in love), read the sleeve (I drooled), and from page one I couldn't put it down. The closer I got to the end, the more excited I got. It was a little bitter sweet, because I also never wanted it to end. Which is why when I realized there would be a sequel, I raced to the finish. I cannot wait for book two. A serious must read! Not one page out of place, every word keeps you hanging on, wanting more. The sequel just cannot come soon enough.
ReplyDeleteVictoria, you have truly created an amazing piece of work. You have an amazing mind and imagination. I applaud and thank you for sharing this story and allowing me the honor of adding your book to my small collection of all time favorites. I wish you much success in your work, and a never ending flow of words and creativity. I look forward to reading more of your work in the time to come.
This has quickly become one of my favorite books! I cannot wait for the second one to come out! You are an amazing author! I'll be waiting impatiently for the second book to come out! :) This book is one of the few books that I can and will read many times. Instant classic!
ReplyDeletei literally bought your book yesterday and finished it today. I thought it was amazing and i really can't wait for the next one. Its definitely one of my favorite and in my personal opinion i thought it was better than the hunger games
ReplyDeleteI have stopped reading those types of books a few years ago. When I came across RQ I fought that it is nothing else than a sweet story for a teenagers but I was wrong. Normally I hate heroines in teen books. They are irritating, they try to be so good and everyone are manipulating them as they want. Your girl is different. She is strong and does what has to be done. I like her and of course I like your book. I'm waiting for the next parts. Best wishes from Poland.
